Directed by Babak Nabizadeh, the film narrates the story of a teenage boy on a remote island. He tries to promote the island’s tourism and attract tourists.
An unexpected problem arises while life on the island is improving by increasing the number of tourists.
The cast of the film includes Hadiseh Karami, Mohammad Azadi, Mehran Mozaffari, Jafar Qasemi, Hassan Zakeri, Bahram Komijani, Amir Qavidel, Yousef Ranjbar, Qolam Ranjbar, and Mohammad Salimi.
Nabizadeh’s film participated in Isfahan’s 32nd International Film Festival for Children and Youth and won the diploma of honor for the best actor and the main award of UNICEF.
It has also taken part in a number of global events, including the 60th Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic, the 2020 San Francisco Iranian Film Festival in the US, and the 2020 International Children’s Film Festival - Cinekid in the Netherlands.
The 2021 edition of the DIFF defined ‘Better Film, Better Audience and Better Society’ as its theme.
The festival’s website states, the “DIFF is a bold expression of resistance against the decadence, vulgarity and cheap commercialism that pervades the mainstream Bangladesh film industry”.
The 2021 edition of the event will be held on January 16-24.
